The final phase involved synthetizing the most disturbing anatomical choices and color traits into a cohesive form.
The digital model lightning and rendering emphasized the creature´s strange structure.
The color direction centered on invoking colors associated with decay, decomposition and unnatural life. Inspired by fungi, and the shimmer of deep sea crustaceans.
Refinement here meant adding layers of alien logic to the creature´s design.
The sketches focused on exploring the otherwordly presence of the Mi-Go. Staying true to Lovecraft´s descrptions-fungoid crustacean-like beigns with wings.

My concept for the creature Mi-Go, also known as the Fungi of Yuggoth, a fictional alien species first introduced by H.P. Lovecraft in his 1931 short story "The Whisperer in Darkness" and frequently referenced in other Cthulhu Mythos works. They are described as an extragalactic species that has colonized numerous worlds, including Yuggoth. They are described as winged, fungal creatures resembling crustaceans, with large claws and heads covered in antennae. The Mi-Go are a scientifically and technologically advanced race, with a particularly sophisticated command of surgical techniques and neuroscience.
