Einar Duncan, the guardian of the Noctelux Pendulum

For the final presentation of my concept, I decided to add his shield and sword, as well as the pendulum that protects him with the challenge. I think it reflects the strong and imposing spirit I was looking for from the beginning.

For the final proportions i reworked the skull just a bit, just to had it more in the shape language of the rest of the character.

For the color part, I worked with analogous palettes since I didn't want much contrast, but rather sought sobriety.

I chose a skull silhouette as my base idea because I found it interesting. I began to develop the idea further with different iterations on the armor, looking for something that would give it a certain air of leadership or nobility.

As I started my first sketches, I came up with the idea that it wouldn't necessarily be someone bad, but someone who honors their purpose.

To explore the shapes, I thought a lot about geometric shapes at first and then tried more organic shapes. At first, I was only focused on the character, but it seemed important to me to have at least a first exploration of what the pendulum could be.

Einar Duncan, the guardian of the Noctelux Pendulum

No one knows if he was human, elf, or something else. Only his spirit remains, bound to his armor and within him, an ancient consciousness. He is the protector of "The Pendulum of Noctelux," an ancient relic that channels the flow between revelation and oblivion. He cannot allow passage unless anyone proves worthy by testing their skill, will, and purpose in combat. He is an enemy not out of malice, but out of duty. If he is successfully defeated, he can be freed and become a spiritual ally.
